Sun-damaged skin
The majority of people love being in the sun, however, excess sun exposure can cause a significant amount of harm to skin. While UV rays can have a damaging effect on the structure of skin, overtime, the heat from the sun can dry it out, depleting it of natural lubricating oils. This will leave the skin feeling dry and flaky. It can also cause premature wrinkles.
Management for sun-damaged skin
Identifying the type of skin pigmentation condition is done through visual examination, in some cases, biopsies may be performed to test any potential cancerous growths.
- People with this condition must avoid too much sun exposure
- Use sufficient amounts of sun screen regularly
- Use hypo-allergenic skin products and cosmetics
- Microdermabrasion can help even out hyper-pigmented skin tone
- Laser resurfacing peels off the damage skin leaving behind evenly toned skin
- IPL or intense pulse light treatment can also remove scars, freckles and sun spots
Treatmenting pigmentation – W Lightning Facial
The [W] Plus Brighting treatment is a combination of Alpha and Beta Hydroxyl acids and Pure vitamin C. The treatment promotes intensive cellular renewal and works against uneven skin tones with brown blemishes that lacks vitality. Apart from sensitive or reactive skin, it can be used on all other skin types.
Phase 1 : Detoxifying
To deeply cleanse the skin, an exfoliating clay-based paste with natural crystals is used. This removes dead skin cells and deeply cleanses pores. The paste also has an anti-pollution peptide which acts to eliminate environmental pollutants and micro-particles that build up over time and suffocate the skin’s tissues.
Phase 2: Resurfacing
The Peeling Renovator solution is used, which is a bonded 20% Glycolic and Salicylic acid micro-emulsion. When it is applied it acts as an intensive exfoliant and cellular booster. It is responsible for regulating keratin, which results in a refining of the epidermis. The formula is also enriched with licorice extract, which soothes the skin, acting as a sedative to reduce any potential irritation.
Phase 3 : Pure Vitamin C serum + Rebalancing Balm
A blend of pure vitamin C liquid is applied to the skin, targeting any dark marks and uneven pigmentation marks, leaving the skin looking brighter and balanced. Finally, a Rebalancing Balm – a soothing emulsion incorporating Sothys’ exclusive patented cosmeceutical H2CR™ active complex – is used to promote healthy cellular regeneration. The Rebalancing Balm is also blended with allantoin which has an extra calm and soothing effect on the skin after the use of hydroxyl acids.
Phase 4 : Oxygenating
The last phase is the use of a cooling and Oxygenating Mask, which contains corn biostimulins rich in nutrients and cell growth factors to promote cellular oxygenation. To further soothe and hydrate the tissues a hydra-softening complex containing a natural amino acid is included with the soft clay mask. It reduces any warmth on the skin and leaves it radiant and energised.
